PTX 111 - a new antiviral product against Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS - has shown in preclinical screening superior antiviral efficacy to standard antiviral drugs including activity against HIV-2 and multi-resistant HIV-1 strains, as well as anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, and immune-modulatory effects.  Its multiple modes of action established are expected to result in improved response rates, less resistance and less side effects compared to the present state-of-the-art therapies.

Today there are 500,000 carriers of the hepatitis B and C virus worldwide. Still there is no cure for the disease. The existing therapy regimens do not yield more than temporary symptomatic results.

PTX 200 - a product against Parkinson’s disease - has already obtained an IND in the US.  New preclinical data indicate potentially superior efficacy to standard therapy through novel mechanisms of action.  Besides the effective control of symptoms its target profile includes slowing down disease progression with reduced dyskinesia.

One clinical concept validation study already has been finished at the Reta Lila Weston Instititute of Neurological Studies, Professor Lees, in London with very promising results.

Apart from the botanical composite drugs PTX 111 and PTX 200 Phytrix can develop new products through its systematic pharmaceutical activity mapping (PAM).
